Ready to laugh? Then come visit Funnies Comedy Club Saturday, inside the Quality Inn Ballroom, 2515 W. 6th, August 27, at 8:30pm. This monthís show will be headlined by Phil Mazo and will be hosted by Funnies co-founder Rob Neville.
Phil Mazo is a comedian who enjoys telling his dark, silly jokes in venues around the world. Philís debut comedy album, Pervert, was featured on iTunes and cracked the Top 40 on their Comedy chart. His many national radio appearances include The Bob & Tom Show, and his standup is in regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radioís Raw Dog Comedy channel. Philís humor writing has appeared in the New York Post, Sports Illustrated and The Complete Idiotís Guide to Jokes. Festivals he has performed at include the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, Yuk Yukís Great Canadian Laugh Off and The New York City Underground Comedy Festival, where he was one of ten comedians selected to perform in 2008ís Emerging Comicís Contest. As an actor, Phil played two characters in High Hopes, a film that appeared in the Cannes Film Festival Short Corner and HBOís New York International Latino Film Festival (the director is Latino; Phil is not). He also starred in a widely seen commercial for CarMax. Originally from the New Jersey section of New York City, Phil currently resides in Los Angeles.
Tickets for Funnies Comedy Club are only $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Discounts are available for groups of eight or more.
Future show dates are already booked throughout the rest of this year, including two very special New Yearís Eve shows featuring Tom Clark. Clark has been seen on CBSís Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Centralís Premium Blend and even had a guest starring role on an episode of TNTís The Closer.
